FIRST GIG

Prolepsis is pleased to announce our first gig with the new line-up. We have been working hard behind the scenes, and now it's time to take it to the stage, come along to Shadows on Thursday 15th of May to see us play, entry is free, and there will be other entertainment on the night too (TBC).

10.10.07

NEW BASS PLAYER

We have been busy auditioning bass players over the last few months, and we are happy to welcome Paul Field to the band. We are very excited about the new direction we will be heading in with the completed line-up - There is a new energy and enthusiasm surrounding us and we are thoroughly looking forward towards our first show together.

Paul has also acquired some new gear, a european Spector bass and a 4 x 10", 575w Ashdown bass amp. We had our first practice with the new gear last night, and it's sounding awesome! We will busy crafting our new sound to perfection, as we look forward to getting back out there and playing gigs again as soon as possible.

PROLEPSIS IS REFORMING

Well, it was a sad departure when Darrell left to embark on his OE, but his role is now being played by Nathan Garton, a great and long time friend (who just returned from his OE!). Nathan and I used to play in bands back in school, so I am very proud and excited that he is now part of Prolepsis.

Although we haven't updated much info recently, we have been busy doing acoustic gigs with just 2 guitars and vocals, and unfortunately it is time for our group to reform after our brief hiatus as our drummer and bass player have chosen to pursue other things.

We are pleased to welcome onboard Carl Hayman on the drums (ex - Epitome). His experience, style and keen attitude will bring an awesome feel to the band, we are enthusiastic about the new direction that lies ahead of us.

We are also seeking a bass player to complete our line up, so get in touch with us if you think you can bring the necessary elements we're after. Email on band@prolepsis.co.nz with your experience, influences, and what you think you can bring to the band.

05.08.06

DARRELL IS OFF TO LONDON

Darrell is one of the original members of Prolepsis and has played countless gigs and shared so many amazing experiences. We are as happy for his new possibility as we are sad for the great loss to the band.

We wish Darrell the very best for his journey, and hope like hell that he doesn't develop some strange accent!

So people, we'll be looking for another guitarist to fill the gap, serious applicants only please, send an email to band@prolepsis.co.nz, or drop us an message through Myspace.

Cheers.

25.05.06

It was a nice change playing in the Westend on of the St James, especially considering the fact that our gear only had to be hauled up one flight of stairs (rather than FIVE for the Grand Circle).

Shadows was awesome, thanks for everone who came along to support, and a special acknowledgement to Tony from Laiddrive, thanks for your help on the night, much appreciated! We hope to be back at Shadows sometime in the near future.

14.10.05

We have a great announcement to share!

Our bass blaster Kipa proudly attained both an aesthetically AND toneful treat recently...

A Spectre Euro 5 String Bass guitar! This combined with his mammoth Mesa/Boogie amplifier, equals to some seriously powerful, yet smooth bottom end. This new addition has sharpened our groove and tone as a whole - We can't wait to share our "new and improved" sound with you as soon as we're able to! Our new songs are ready to burst with energy and enthusiasm.

14.09.05

What's new? A bit of the ol' good and bad...

Bad news is our bassist had his beloved bass guitar stolen out of his car recently, this has been a big set back not only for Kipa, but the rest of the band.

Good news is we've been chipping away at some new material and won't be too far away from getting out there to blast the new tracks.

More to follow shortly
